[GC 2022] Under The Waves: Eco-Friendly Narrative Adventure At The Bottom Of The Sea? [VIDEO]

Under The Waves, a new “poetic” narrative adventure game developed by Parallel Studio and published by Quantic Dream, has also received a nice preview at this year’s Gamescom.

We already knew that Quantic Dream’s games are deep, but in the case of Under The Waves, this could be literally true, as it takes you to the depths of the sea. This narrative adventure has a clear message: support for preserving the Earth’s ecosystem and the marine world.

It will be a poetic narrative adventure starring a professional diver called Stan.

A new trailer for Under The Waves was shown at Opening Night Live. The title takes us to the depths of the North Sea in an alternative, techno-futuristic take on the 1970s. The protagonist is named Stan, who uses his professional scuba diving skills to experience the most extraordinary things under the ocean.

The title pays homage to ocean conservation by showing the marine life at its best. Quantic Dream and Parallel Studio are working with Foundation Europe, an association that supports the preservation of lakes and rivers, among other things. Under The Waves takes players to beautiful seascapes where they can explore caves, shipwrecks, etc. The player must choose between staying under the sea or coming to the surface.

The visuals will be familiar to anyone who has seen James Cameron’s The Abyss.

Set for release in 2023 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Under The Waves explores the beauty and mystery of the deep. Quantic Dream has been making excellent video game stories for 25 years.
