PlayStation 5: Sony Launches Grey, Disguised Accessories [VIDEO]

The Gray Camouflage collection includes a DualSense controller, a Pulse 3D headset and covers for the PlayStation 5.

After coming out with a galaxy-inspired colour scheme, Sony Interactive Entertainment is now trying its hand at a style of grey camouflage. Isabelle Tomatis, vice president of international marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, wrote on the PlayStation Blog: “The PlayStation design team reimagined our camouflage pattern to reflect a fresher, more contemporary feel. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the iconic PlayStation shapes have been subtly incorporated into the pattern,” including the X, Square, Triangle, and Circle quartet.

The Grey Camouflage kit is available for pre-order from September 15. The controller and PlayStation 5 covers will be available from October 14, while the Pulse 3D headset will be available from December. In the UK, US, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, it will be available to order exclusively via PlayStation Direct for two weeks before appearing in selected stores from September 28. The Gray Camouflage console cover will be available exclusively through Sony’s direct-to-consumer (with The Last Of Us Part I Firefly Edition, questionable quality…) service, PlayStation Direct.

Sony is currently accepting registrations from interested customers to buy PlayStation 5 directly from the company. Registrations are open in the UK, the US, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Of these, only the US has not seen a price increase (likely due to the Xbox Series proving to be a strong competitor). In contrast, the European region recently saw a €50 price increase on both versions of the still expensive PlayStation 5, including the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, which omits the Blu-ray drive.

The timing doesn’t seem coincidental: it’s as if Sony has launched the Gray Camouflage range to distract attention from the price increase and the poor PlayStation Plus expansion…
