Project Z: A Publisher For The Nazi Zombie Experiment

314 Arts has become the publisher of the cooperative zombie survival first-person shooter, bringing Project Z to the current-gen consoles.

Modus Games has announced a deal with 314 Arts to release Projekt Z for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC (Steam), with a brief synopsis from the publisher: “Projekt Z is an atmospheric zombie cooperative first-person shooter set in World War II with a diverse crew of soldiers, each with their unique abilities, whose mission is to unravel the secrets of a Nazi experiment on a lush, remote island. Players will discover covert schemes related and unrelated to “Projekt Z”—a plan formulated by the Nazis to turn zombies into weapons to shift the war in their favour.

Already attracting a devoted fanbase, Projekt Z’s feature set upon launch will be expansive. Build and customize your hideout, craft and upgrade weapons, recruit allies, select your missions based on your character’s story arc, solve sporadic puzzles, find hidden loot and, of course, fight hordes of undead across multiple modes,” Modus Games says.

“We are pleased to announce to the community that has supported us since the beginning of development that we’ve found an excellent partner in Modus Games and look forward to completing this passion project,” 314 Arts founder and game designer Justin Miersch wrote in the press release. “Projekt Z is much more than your average cooperative shooter, and we are very excited to reveal its depth and uniqueness to fans of the genre. Together with the team at 314 Arts, we are eager to share more in the coming months,” added Shane Bierwith, president of Modus Games.

There’s just one problem we can’t ignore: Project Z has no release date. The fact that it leaves out the PlayStation 4/Xbox One pair is not a problem because those two consoles will soon be nine years old…
