God Of War: Ragnarok: Cory Barlog Freaks Out – Too Many Spoilers & Leaks Come Out?!

God of War: Ragnarök producer Cory Barlog reacts angrily to the plethora of spoilers and leaks on the internet. He claims they are the result of a retailer.

It’s no secret that God of War: Ragnarök spoilers and leaks have frequently appeared on the internet over the past week. Producer Cory Barlog angrily revealed the source of these in a recent Twitter post. The title is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of 2022. So for fans who prefer to go into it blind, the sheer number of spoilers posted on Reddit, YouTube and so on makes it incredibly difficult to avoid them.

What’s more, with God of War: Ragnarök only days away from release, the sight of spoilers flooding the internet at this rate can be pretty disheartening.

One could argue that they’re not as bad as the leaks from The Last of Us 2. But the fact is, there are enough of them to ruin critical moments of the experience. Fans are urged to avoid all social media. Alternatively, mute several keywords to stay as fresh as possible. But no doubt, many wonder how this could have happened in the first place.

In a recent post, Cory Barlog revealed that a retailer had apparently sold out of game copies two weeks before release. In other words, those who posted videos, spoilers, and leaks online must have gotten their copies early. This is not the first time something like this has happened. However, the fact is that it has had a widespread impact on fans of the franchise.

Cory Barlog is quite angry that fans have to avoid spoilers, stating that it’s “completely f*cking stupid” that some fans have to do this.

This is not how Santa Monica Studio wanted the release to be handled. After all, if they spoil something for even one fan, it could completely ruin the hype and anticipation for God of War: Ragnarök.

Indeed, spoilers are everywhere. Even some of the comments on Cory Barlog’s thread contain screenshots, links and more leaked details. Sony and Santa Monica are undoubtedly doing their best to prevent this. However, fans should not venture there to be on the safe side. It is unfortunate that some retailers and those who have purchased the game could potentially ruin the experience for so many fans.
