Norman Reedus To Join The Cast Of John Wick Spinoff Ballerina?!

MOVIE NEWS – The Walking Dead favourite Norman Reedus will star alongside Ana de Armas in the first John Wick spinoff.

The cast for the first spinoff in the John Wick film series, Ballerina, is expanding. According to Lionsgate, not just anyone will be joining next. The man in question is Norman Reedus, who will be getting his own spinoff series after eleven seasons of The Walking Dead. Currently, in production in Prague, the film will also feature some characters from previous John Wick films, but Ana de Armas will play the lead role.

“We’re huge fans of Norman, and we’re confident that the fans will be just as excited as we are that he’s joining the Wick universe. He’ll make an incredible addition to Ballerina,” said producer Erica Lee on the news.

It was recently announced that Academy Award nominee Catalina Sandino Moreno had joined the cast, marking her debut in the franchise. Some familiar faces from the John Wick films will also appear. Keanu Reeves will make a cameo appearance to help tie the two stories together. Anjelica Huston will also return as the Director from Parabellum, while Ian McShane and Lance Reddick will return as Winston and Charon, respectively. More names will likely be announced soon as the cast list continues to come together.

Reedus is perhaps best known for his role on The Walking Dead, although as the series draws to a close, he is expanding his film credits. He recently landed a crucial role in New Regency’s The Bikeriders. Alongside the likes of Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy and Michael Shannon. Reedus has also appeared in the Boondock Saints films and is rumoured to appear in the planned third instalment of the series.

Ballerina is reportedly set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 and John Wick: Chapter 4.

The fourth film will not be released until March. There is no indication that de Armas will appear in that film, although one of the franchise stars, Laurence Fishburne, will return alongside Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick. Joining the franchise in the movie are Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, Clancy Brown, Shamier Anderson and Rina Sawayama.

Ballerina has not yet received a premiere date.
