Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Peter Parker And Miles Morales Will Be Back In A Year

Insomniac Games is setting an incredible pace on PlayStation 5. We haven’t seen anything like it since the PS2 era…

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games have announced on the PlayStation Blog that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released for PlayStation 5 in the autumn. So sometime between September and November 2023, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, the game’s two Spider-Men, will appear. And that’s a strong pace from the studio, and when coupled with outstanding quality, it should make the “insomniacs” the best studio within Sony…

Insomniac Games creative director Bryan Intihar wrote on the PlayStation Blog: “What a year it’s been for PlayStation Studios; here at Insomniac Games, we’ve been in absolute awe of the work of our peers. Congrats to everyone on a successful 2022… and here’s to next year being just as exciting as we continue to get Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall.” The game is being described by Sony as “the next chapter in the blockbuster action,” so the company has high hopes and expectations for it.

Why do we call Insomniac Games’ pace unique? In November 2020, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was among the PlayStation 5 launch titles. At the same time, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered was also released. (It was initially released for PlayStation 4 in the fall of 2018, and Miles Morales also got a PS4 version, but we’ll leave that aside now…) Then in 2021 came Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it will technically be the studio’s fourth game in three years for the PlayStation 5, and Marvel’s Wolverine has already been announced, so a fourth is on the way. If we’re talking about games designed for PS5 by default, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be the second!

So Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to PlayStation 5 sometime between September and November. The earliest the PC port could arrive is Autumn 2024, seeing Sony’s strategy.
