It’s Official: New Game+ Mode For God Of War: Ragnarök Is Coming – They Even Revealed When!

Sony Santa Monica has confirmed that the critically acclaimed God of War: Ragnarök will get the previously rumoured New Game+ mode.

God of War: Ragnarök is getting a New Game+ mode, but fans will have to wait until next year to try it out. The game was released last month to widespread critical acclaim – we loved it. It was one of the top-rated games of the year and took home six awards at The Game Awards 2022.

New Game+ has long been a tradition in the God of War franchise, but the 2018 God of War game was released without the feature.

Shortly after release, Sony Santa Monica released a free update for the 2018 God of War that added the New Game+ feature. With that in mind, many God of War fans assumed that Ragnarök would get the New Game+ mode at some point. However, no official confirmation has been given.

Sony’s Santa Monica studio has confirmed that God of War: Ragnarök will get a New Game+ mode in Spring 2023. Unfortunately, no further details on what this will include are available at the time of writing. At the very least, we can imagine that it will allow players to go through the same difficulty again with their gear and upgrades intact. At the same time, it would be nice if players could also scroll up the difficulty.

In God of War: Ragnarök, players can choose from several difficulty levels, including the ultra-challenging Give Me God of War mode.

If New Game+ allows players to change the difficulty settings, then more players should be able to play through the hardest difficulty. Some games do not let players to play this feature on different difficulties. But God of War: Ragnarök currently allows players to change the difficulty at any time. So it is hard to imagine that such a restriction will be in place in this particular game.

More information on the new mode for God of War: Ragnarök will be coming next year. Many fans are probably already content in the knowledge that the feature is definitely on its way. If nothing else, it gives them the perfect excuse to relive the game’s epic story.
