Will Season 3 Of The Witcher Series Be Released In Two Parts On Netflix?!

MOVIE NEWS – The Netflix adaptation of the popular The Witcher universe could return in two parts in the upcoming Season 3.

The highly anticipated Season 3 of Netflix’s The Witcher series, inspired by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s book series and CD Projekt RED’s bestselling video game franchise, will be available in two parts.

In an interview with Collider, showrunner and creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said that Season 3 could air in two parts but that no decision has been made yet.

“We haven’t discussed that yet, but at this point I think what we see happening across all sort of streamers, I wouldn’t rule it out. I do think that obviously we don’t put anything out that we’re not incredibly proud of. So that dictates our entire launch date. And I think it’ll be interesting. Again, we have a way still a very long time, eight-ish months until The Witcher season 3 comes out. So God willing, we get it all out at the same time. But who knows, we will see what happens.”

Henry Cavill says goodbye to The Witcher series

The 39-year-old actor will say goodbye to his beloved role as Rival Geralt with season 3 of The Witcher. Cavill will then pass the sword to Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth. It is known that Cavill wanted a more faithful adaptation of the books. However, it is unclear why Cavill dropped out of the project. Another rumour is that the actor disagreed with the producers and crew during the filming. Lauren Schmidt expressed “mutual respect”, denying the story, adding: “Please, please, please come back in six months when we can talk”.

The other person to comment on the matter was Joey Batey, who plays Jaskier in Netflix’s The Witcher series.

The actor said he was sad to see Cavill go. Batey spoke to Metro.co.uk:

“I was very sad. I mean, I’m not gonna lie. It was a little gutting because Henry just brings the show. He has had this show on his shoulders for four years now and brings this strength on the bad days, and the joy on the good ones. So he will be really missed. I’ll miss him, like nobody’s business. I’ve been talking to Liam and he is so keen and is already throwing himself into every little corner of this world and this universe.”
