Could a Real Surprise Ninja and Samurai Game Suddenly Arrive on Xbox Game Pass?!

Shadow Warrior 3: the funny and bloody first-person shooter may be coming to Xbox Game Pass, at least if some German text messages are to be believed.

According to Twitter user Game Pass Counter, some users have received text message ads from Xbox Game Pass that mention Shadow Warrior 3. These SMS are speculatively the ones to be sent out as and when the game becomes available through the service.

“In Stranded Deep, you can experience the post-collapse future or immerse yourself in the clever action of Shadow Warrior 3,” the text message reads in German, at least according to the Twitter user who posted it.

Shadow Warrior 3 was originally released in March 2022 for PC, Xbox and PlayStation. You can read a summary of the game below.

This first-person shooter combines fast-paced shooting, razor-sharp melee, and a spectacular free-flowing movement system. An ex-Yakuza mercenary and his former employer, nemesis-turned-assistant Orochi Zilla embarks on an unlikely mission to retrieve an ancient dragon that has been unwittingly freed from its eternal prison.

Armed with a brutal mix of blades and bullets, travel the uncharted parts of the world to track down the dark beast and push back the apocalypse once more. All you need is the mask of a dead god, a dragon egg, a dash of magic and enough firepower to stop the impending cataclysm.

At the time of writing, neither Xbox nor Devolver Digital have confirmed whether the game will be added to Xbox Game Pass, but given the service’s growing popularity, it wouldn’t be a big surprise.
