The Cocaine Bear Is A Much Bigger Hit Than Expected

CINEMA NEWS – Industry estimates put the opening weekend of Cocaine Bear at $15 million, but the rampaging predator grossed $23 million in North American theaters.

This confirmed the premise of the creators that the continuation of the case that happened in 1985 is a winning idea if the film is well made.

In 1985, a bear ate a significant portion of a shipment of cocaine that fell from a plane into the forest and died, but in the film, the large predator chases everyone in the round forest: hikers, policemen and members of the drug gang.

It is possible that the success of Cocaine Bear will trigger the production of films starring beasts with altered states of consciousness. A couple of weeks ago, the New Zealand police intercepted a motorboat drifting in the ocean with three tons of cocaine on board, as a result of which the people of the Internet began to think that, look, we have the starting point for the movie Cocaine Shark, if Cocaine Bear has already been made . The director of Cocaine Bear, Elizabeth Banks, understood the joke and quickly told People magazine that she would like to direct the new opus as well, you can’t fail with her.

Well, it’s not good to paint the devil on the wall, because the methamphetamine alligator, if not the cocaine shark, will come soon. The idea offered by Cocaine Bear was of course taken by the studio Asylum, which makes laugh-out-loud parodies based on hit movies. In the announced masterpieces – The Attack of the Meth Gator – the swamp-dwelling reptile wreaks havoc in a big city.

Here you can see Asylum’s threatening announcement on Twitter about the new production.
