RoboCop Slips On Oil: RoboCop: Rogue City Is Delayed! [VIDEO]

If this delay means that Teyon (who surprised us with Terminator: Resistance after making somewhat questionable with Rambo: The Video Game) and Nacon can run circles around the 2003-launched Titus game adaptation from the license, then feel free to postpone…

Nacon held a broadcast showing off several of their upcoming games the other day. One was RoboCop: Rogue City, which the publisher described: “Become the iconic part man, part machine, all cop hero as you attempt to bring justice to the dangerous, crime-ridden streets of Old Detroit. Armed with your trusty Auto-9, factory-built strength, years of experience on the force, and various tools, you will fight forces seeking to destroy the city you call home in an all-new first-person, explosive hunt for the truth. You have the power to decide how to fulfill prime directives in your way, but as the story unfolds, proceed with caution because corruption and greed know no limits. Prepare yourself to protect the innocent and uphold the law.”

Based on the gameplay overview video, we can only hope that Teyon will leave the abysmally bad RoboCop game of 2003 far behind. (In that game, if we’re not lucky, an opponent can kill us with a single attack from 100 HP and shield, even on normal difficulty, and if it attacks in such a way that it gets us in the face just as we open a door, it can be annoying!) Robocop’s voice is even more unusual after Titus’ old game because it doesn’t sound so mechanical here. Maybe we’ll get used to it.

RoboCop: Rogue City was scheduled for release in June, but Nacon has pushed the release to September on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). The video makes no mention of a Nintendo Switch port. It appears that this version has been cancelled by Nacon and Teyon. Maybe it’s for the best.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
