Hugh Jackman is serious about playing Wolverine again in Deadpool 3. The actor shared a photo on Instagram showing six meals that he eats in one day. He wrote under the picture: “Bulking. A day in the life. Thank you Chef Mario for helping me stay healthy and properly fed while… Becoming. Wolverine. Again.”

Jackman’s diet consists of black bass (2,000 calories), Patagonia salmon (2,100 calories), two chicken burgers (around 1,000 calories each), and two grass-fed sirloins (1,100 calories each). This means that Jackman consumes over 8,000 calories a day to get more muscular for the role. Of course, he also works out hard, which he also shares on social media. In one post, for example, we can see him lifting a huge weight with his arms.

Jackman has been playing Wolverine since 2000 in nine movies, and in 2017 it seemed that Logan would be the last time he would put on the mutant role. He then said that after 17 years he had enough of the extreme training and diet that were necessary to be in superhero shape. After the movie, he indulged in pasta and wine on Jimmy Fallon’s show.

But now he decided to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, alongside Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool. Reynolds reportedly persuaded Jackman for years to play Wolverine with him in a movie, and they even came up with a fake feud about it. Jackman finally gave in, and Reynolds announced the collaboration in a video in September.

Deadpool 3 will hit theaters on November 8.
