Beef: What Is Amy Thinking In The Last Scene? The Actress Herself Told!

MOVIE NEWS – Beef star Ali Wong reveals precisely what Amy is thinking in the heartbreaking final scene of the new Netflix series starring Steven Yeun (SPOILER WARNING!)

Beef star Ali Wong reveals what Amy was thinking in the series’ final scene. Recently released on Netflix, the series follows the story of Danny, played by Steven Yeun, and Amy, played by Ali Wong. The characters get involved in a road accident that consumes their lives. In the series finale, the two finally put their feud behind them when Danny helps the injured Amy out of the desert. However, Amy’s ex-husband George finds them and shoots Danny because he thinks he has hurt her. In the final scene of Beef, Amy climbs onto the unconscious Danny’s bed in the hospital to cuddle with him.

Now, shortly after Beef was released on Netflix, Wong revealed in an interview with TVLine precisely what Amy was thinking during the series’ heartbreaking final scene.

The series star talks about how the ending shows how much her character cared for Danny despite their terrible feud. Amy was finally only able to let go of the conflict when he put her life in danger. Read what Wong shares below:

“I think she just hadn’t realized – even though it seems like this kind of face-off situation – how much she really cares about Danny. He’s the only person she’s let really see her and I don’t know if she even let it happen. It just happened and she realizes how much she appreciates it. And now with the risk of Danny dying, she’s just like, ‘Please don’t go away. I’ve never felt more at home in my life.'”

How does the final scene of Beef set the stage for Season 2?

The final shot of Beef is perhaps the most heartbreaking scene of the series. As Amy crawls into the unconscious Danny’s hospital bed, unsure if the one she loved most would even survive. Yet the final scene hints that she is still alive and will eventually wake up, as Danny’s arm seems to move around Amy. The moment is subtle, though, as if to indicate that Danny is not dead after being shot, breaking his arm, and eating potentially poisonous elderberries.

Since Danny and Amy’s feud is over and the former survived the season one finale, their relationship could turn romantic in a possible season two.

The fact that Amy climbed into Danny’s bed and he put his arms around her seemed to indicate mutual romantic feelings between the two. This could be further explored in season 2 of Beef, in which a third-party feud could possibly develop between the two. Although Netflix has not yet officially renewed the series, Yeun and creator Lee Sung-jin have already expressed their hope that the series will continue.

There are plenty of shocking scenes in the series beyond the last shot. Our review will be coming soon; in the meantime, if you’re interested, give it a shot on Netflix!
