Legendary Character To Join The Guardians of the Galaxy?! [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Guardians of the Galaxy 3 hints at the return of a legendary Star-Lord, with the introduction of another MCU successor to the hero (SPOILER WARNING!)

Star-Lord’s return to the Marvel Universe was set up in Guardians of the Galaxy 3. This could also be the first debut of his MCU successor. The Phase 5 film marks the end of James Gunn’s trilogy. The last time we saw the Guardians team together. However, not all characters are leaving the franchise. Chris Pratt’s days as Peter Quill will continue, as a post-credit scene from Guardians of the Galaxy 3 confirmed that Star-Lord would return. Where that will happen is less clear.

As well as questions about exactly when and where we’ll next see Star-Lord, there are also questions about how long he’ll be part of the MCU.

Marvel Studios has taken several steps in the years since Avengers: Endgame to introduce new MCU characters. They could replace some of the franchise’s longer-standing members. This effort has focused primarily on the original Avengers. However, it may only be a matter of time before Marvel finds someone to replace Chris Pratt’s hero. Marvel may have secretly unveiled a successor to Star-Lord in the MCU.

Could the return of Star-Lord be a Nova?

Guardians of the Galaxy 3’s hint that Star-Lord will return could be part of Marvel Studios’ plans for the solo Nova project in development. This will be a Disney+ series, according to recent reports. A solo project focusing on Richard Rider Nova’s rise would be the perfect setting for Star-Lord’s return after Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

Now that Star-Lord is back on Earth, he’s perfectly placed to meet Richard Rider on his journey to becoming Nova. It’s not yet clear exactly how the MCU will handle Nova’s origin story. But in the comics, Rider’s superhero story began after he was recruited by Rhomann Dey, played by John C. Reilly, in the first Guardians of the Galaxy.

How can Nova replace Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy?

Nova will not replace Star-Lord by taking his place. Yet he is the character best suited to fill the same role that Peter played in the cosmic side of the franchise. Nova is one of the Galaxy’s greatest defenders in the comics. He should have a similarly prominent role after his MCU debut.

Nova was also a member of the Guardians team at times and could replace Star-Lord in that capacity in the MCU.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ended Quill’s time on the team. The storyline’s conclusion gave control over to Mordaly, who formed a new group of Guardians. Nova may not be a part of the roster for now, but the MCU has already shown it’s willing to expand any of its guards.
