Henry Cavill Bids Farewell To His The Witcher Colleagues [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – The actor says the others bring details and nuances to the characters that could be in danger of being oversimplified.

Over the weekend, Netflix held its Tudum festival in Brazil based on promotions and trailers. The main characters of Bridgerton, Avatar: The Last Airbender, FUBAR, or The Witcher, to name a few, appeared. Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, Joey Batey, and Henry Cavill were all present due to playing in The Witcher, and they all hinted at a few things about the third season, but then got down to business, as Cavill will not be playing Geralt for much longer.

Batey, who plays the role of Jaskier in the series, led off with a speech from Henry Cavill, who thanked his colleagues for the opportunity to work with them: “I just want to talk about my co-stars here because, once again, it was such a pleasure and an honor to be working with you guys. You guys bring so much nuance and detail to these characters, which are often at risk of being oversimplified, and what you guys have done with the characters has involved work, care, and effort. And believe me, working with you guys was the biggest pleasure. So, [I] just want to say I will miss you. I’m going to miss you very much,” Cavill said.

Batey responded by thanking Cavill for his incredible contribution to the first three seasons of The Witcher and then said on behalf of the cast that they love him and will miss him. This comment was immediately followed by a snippet from season three, so there was no chance even to ask what exactly Cavill thought when he meant regarding oversimplification. Incidentally, in the two-and-a-half-minute video, Ciri is visited by a mage called Rience (now played by Sam Woolf), and a hectic battle ensues, with many people getting stabbed in the process.

The first half of The Witcher season 3 debuts on Netflix on June 29, with the second half to wait an extra month, as it will be shown on July 27. Liam Hemsworth will take over the role of Geralt for the fourth season, and he’ll likely play him in the already confirmed fifth season.
