Is Valve Planning A Half-Life Announcement At Gamescom? No Way!

We don’t mention the game that first came to mind because it’s been fifteen years since then, and we always think of the Gabe Newell-led company as a company that’s not happy with a specific number.

On Reddit, user ItzDarko42 wrote that according to the official Gamescom side-app, Valve will be among the exhibitors at this year’s “European E3.” While it doesn’t mean saying anything, Half-Life is listed among the tags, which leads us to believe that the franchise will be represented in some form. This information can be seen in the two images below.

Unfortunately, it’s unnecessary to get excited about what it could be about, as the user has since updated their post to highlight that the Gamescom app in question is no longer on Google Play. He downloaded it last year and was just curious. He hadn’t noticed that the app no longer had any fresh information because he had come across things like Activision Blizzard mentioning Diablo IV, which had already been released in June. They don’t need to be there for live service support. The app had also mentioned Starfield, which would only launch after Gamescom…

But you’d be right to think that nothing is happening because Half-Life 2: Episode 2 was part of The Orange Box with Portal and Team Fortress 2 in autumn 2007, and since then, neither the third episode nor Half-Life 3 has been released, but, instead, in spring 2020, Valve released Half-Life: Alyx, a VR-exclusive game. It’s rumored to be in the pipeline for PlayStation VR2 and could even be announced at this year’s Gamescom (which runs from August 23 to 27).

So it’s all been a hoax, and since it’s been a long time since Half-Life 2: Episode 2, we’re not optimistic about anything. So it’s hard to be disappointed with Valve.
