Is A Red Dead Redemption Remaster Coming To Nintendo Switch?

Rockstar Games just can’t sit on its butt (we think it should be concentrating all its efforts on Grand Theft Auto VI…) because now there are rumors that its 2010 game is getting a remaster…

Tez2 spotted the updated Red Dead Redemption logo on the Rockstar Games website. He also found other interesting things. The original website didn’t use the rating list, but the new one does, and the Western adventure has appeared there. In a surprising twist, they list the platforms as buttons, including the Nintendo Switch for the game. Either somebody screwed up, or the yet-to-be-announced remaster will be coming to the big N’s portable platform…

Let’s take the previous remaster project into account. The Nintendo Switch inclusion cannot be called a mistake since Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition was also released for it (although it should not have been released for any console or PC…), and some conclusions can be drawn from its experience. For example, we shouldn’t expect the visuals of the remaster of the first part to match what we have seen in Red Dead Redemption 2, as RDR was initially released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, at least not on the Switch.

Some visual upgrades are expected, especially if the remaster is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and possibly PC (although the Xbox 360 version can be emulated on PC with Xenia and PlayStation 3 with the RPCS3 emulator). Rockstar Games and Take-Two have not yet announced plans for Red Dead Redemption. Maybe an announcement will come during Gamescom, but if a new version is indeed in the works, we’ll be on our knees begging for it not to be in the terrible state that Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas remasters were…
