Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty: Team Ninja “Apologizes” For The PC Port

Team Ninja’s (Ninja Gaiden reboot, Nioh) game isn’t bad, but it’s not perfect on PC due to the quality of the port.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty was released on Steam on March 3, and at first, it would have had mixed reviews, but recently, it has turned overwhelmingly negative. The PC port hasn’t improved much (or even at all) in months, and the reviews on Valve’s digital storefront are at the point where they say it’s not worth buying Wo Long for PC.

The situation worsened because Team Ninja remained silent on social media, following the principle of nomen est omen. Still, after a long time, they posted a letter from the director on their website. Masakazu Hirayama (the director and producer) primarily talked about the new free and paid content for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty coming later this year (Nioh and Lies of P collaboration, for example), but then we came to the “Optimizations and bug fixes for the PC version” section. It is the relevant section for us, so let’s see what Hirayama wrote…

“We can’t discuss the future without discussing past and present difficulties with the game. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to everyone playing the PC version of Wo Long since its release. I can assure you that the development team has read every report posted on various bulletin boards, social channels, and our customer support department, and we have placed top priority on optimization and bug fixes. However, there are many combinations of PC environments in each household. While our team continues to expand the environments where the game is checked post-launch, replicating issues and fixing them will take time.

I promise we will continue to improve so you can play with peace of mind as soon as possible. We apologize for this delay. From the bottom of our hearts, we truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to not only play our game but to send us comments, streams, and screenshots in hopes of helping us continue to make the experience better for all gamers. To fulfill your expectations, our development team is committed to the efforts to make the game even more enjoyable for you. With that in mind, I hope we can count on your continued support for Wo Long; Fallen Dynasty,” the director wrote.

So he apologized, but then he didn’t because there are so many PC configurations…
