Gothic Remake: Visiting The Old Camp [VIDEO]

During the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase, the Gothic remake appeared with a short video.

The video is titled “Welcome to Old Camp,” the description reads, “Welcome to the Old Camp in the Valley of Mines. Stroll through the camp, meet friendly locals, or go sightseeing. The Arena is said to be especially lovely at this time of the year!” It’s hard to argue with that; it’s not bad visuals that Alkimia Interactive has implemented so far. The team essentially emerged from THQ Barcelona, as it was the group that released a playable taste of Gothic in December 2019, and Alkimia was formed in May 2020 mainly to bring Gothic Remake to fruition, while the IP’s original developers, Piranha Bytes, also part of the Embracer Group, were working on ELEX.

An implacable horde of orcs has invaded the Kingdom of Myrtana. King Rhobar II, needing a large quantity of magical ore to forge mighty weapons, operates the Khorinis mines with all available prisoners. The monarch asks his best magicians to create a magical barrier to prevent them from escaping. But something goes wrong. The magic gets out of control, and a mutiny turns the mines into a wild territory now controlled by the most violent prisoners. The King is forced to negotiate with the new owners while the tension between the different factions of the mines increases. No one expects that the arrival of an unknown prisoner will change everything.

Return to The Colony in a faithful, full-blown remake of the famous and revolutionary game Gothic from 2001. Rediscover the world of the mining colony, its secrets and challenges. Play as the Nameless Hero—manage the fate of a lifetime convicted prisoner who must survive in a world of wild animals, creatures, and convicts of dangerous reputation. The combat system takes the basic premises of the original combat system to the modern age.

Gothic Remake still has no release date. It will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC and is planned for current-gen platforms as early as 2019.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
