Spielberg Inspired the Idea for A Quiet Place

MOVIE NEWS – A Quiet Place was a huge hit in 2018, the adventures of a family fleeing from sharp-eared aliens brought in $341 million at the box office, and critics also received the film favorably.

A sequel was also made with a similar noisy success, and A Quiet Place: Day One, which tells the prequel, will soon hit theaters. What’s more, A Quiet Place 3 is also planned, which hopefully will feature Cillian Murphy, who appeared in the second part – the female lead, Emily Blunt, can’t imagine another sequel without him. Meanwhile, it turned out that Steven Spielberg’s hand is also in this franchise, albeit indirectly.

The writer-director and star of the first film, John Krasinski, revealed that a scene from the 1993 Jurassic Park gave him the idea for A Quiet Place. Specifically, the kitchen adventure, when the kids hide behind the sink from the velociraptors and don’t dare to make a sound, lest the predatory dinosaurs discover them.

“This scene always stuck in my head, I just couldn’t forget it – Krasinski quotes FandomWire. – What struck me most about it was that there seemed to be no way out of that situation. If you make a sound, you die, if you try to run, you’re done right away, but you’re still done if you stay still. I thought there was so much packed into this situation that you could unfold a whole movie from it. Then it turned out that this is really true.”
