This Is What The Amazing Spider-Man 3 Would Have Been Like – Are We Sad That It Wasn’t Made?!

MOVIE NEWS – The writer of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 has shared some plot details online, which, let’s face it, sound pretty wild.

Andrew Garfield’s run as Spider-Man ended abruptly with The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which turned out to be a big flop. It was criticised for having too many villains and too little story.

Sony’s future Spider-Man projects were then cancelled, leaving Disney to make a wall-crawling version in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In a surprising turn of events, however, Andrew Garfield was allowed to reprise his Spider-Man costume alongside Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man: No Way Home for the multiverse adventure.

Fans have praised Garfield’s return. Many would like to see him get a third Spider-Man movie and complete the trilogy. Unlikely, but one can dream.

Now, however, details have leaked onto the internet about what The Amazing Spider-Man 3 could be about, and the brief snippets shared sound absolutely insane.

In the new book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, there’s a page about Andrew Garfield’s third film. According to the scribbled-together script page, we could have seen Spider-Man versus The Sinister Six!

An excerpt from the book reads, “The goal was to have all of these villains team up for a Sinister Six film. The studio even had screenwriter Drew Goddard work up a draft. By the end of 2014, [Drew Goddard] had a draft that took Spider-Man and his villains to the Savage Land…Where Spider-Man would ride a T-Rex.”

Supposedly, Spider-Man would travel to other parts of the world besides New York, and there would even be brief time travel elements, which explains why he would ride a T-Rex.

The Sinister Six line-up would have consisted of the Vulture, Sandman, Doctor Octopus, Mysterio, Black Cat and possibly Spider-Man himself, following the grief and anger of Gwen Stacey’s death.

To be honest, that sounds a bit odd. It probably would have caused even more outrage after the hostile reception of the first two Amazing Spider-Man films. That said, it would still be nice to see Garfield get his third film at some point in the future. (Preferably with fewer villains and dinosaurs.)
