Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth: Another Area To Beat Yakuza: Like A Dragon!

Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio reveal the size of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s open world, claiming it’s three times the size of the previous game’s map!

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth revealed the size of Hawaii’s open world. Claiming to be three times bigger than Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Like the previous games, in IW, we can explore an open-world city. This post is primarily set in the western state of Hawaii. More precisely, the game’s location is Honolulu City, the capital of Hawaii. This provides the perfect setting for Ichiban’s adventures.

Previous Like a Dragon games have allowed players to explore multiple open-world locations, although players have become familiar with the city of Kamurocho.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon introduced the neighbourhood of Isezaki Ijincho, located in the city of Yokohama. In comparison, players were able to explore both Kamurocho and Sotenbori in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Ijincho is the primary map where the game takes place. This city also served as the central location for the Lost Judgment spin-off. Even though Ijincho is already a large city for players to explore, the city of Honolulu is promised to be three times the size.

This detail was revealed on Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s official Twitter account. According to a rough translation of the Japanese tweet, Honolulu City is “supposedly more than three times the size of Isezaki Ijincho.” Some of the areas in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth include Aloha Beach, Anaconda Mall, Waikiki Town, Chinatown, Little Japan, and District 5.

Each of these areas of Honolulu offers different activities for players to try. For example, they can swim at Aloha Beach or shop in Waikiki Town. Anaconda Mall is an area with entertainment facilities such as arcades. This is probably where players can play many of Infinite Wealth’s minigames.

However, not all areas are friendly, as District 5 is described as “illegally occupied” and home to Hawaii’s local mafia.

IW advertises itself as the longest Like a Dragon game in the series. They promise more than 60 hours of playing time. Honolulu’s big, open world can contribute to this. After all, Like a Dragon games have a lot of story and side content to explore. In the Dondoko Island side-activity, players can create their own island, similar to games like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley. So it looks like there will be plenty of ways for fans to keep themselves busy with the game…
