Why is Reacher’s 2nd Book 11? The Writer: Lee Child Explains!

MOVIE NEWS – Writer Lee Child explains why Reacher’s Season 2 is jumping forward to adapt the eleventh Jack Reacher novel Bad Luck and Trouble after Season 1.

Writer Lee Child justifies why Reacher’s 2nd season jumps forward to adapt the eleventh book of the novel series, Bad Luck and Trouble. In 1997, the author of Jack Reacher launched a renowned series of novels with the first book, Killing Floor, from which he adapted Season 1 of the Prime Video series. The book series now contains 28 books, and in Season 2, Book 11 is skipped for the adaptation of Book 11. After the first three episodes of Reacher Season 2, the first three episodes of Reacher, after the recognition of critics and the rapid renewal of the streaming service provider.

Talking to Radiotimes.com, Child explains why Reacher is jumping forward to process book 11. The writer explained that he wanted to allow readers to read any books differently from order, which would allow the Prime Video success series to do so. In connection with which book they chose, season 1 focused on being a “action season”, but he and the team wanted a sequel season that “professionally introduces him [reacer]”. Child and the showrunners felt that Jack Reacher’s 11th book, Back to Luck and the trouble, had fulfilled their idea. The total quote from Child is below:

“Well, for me as a writer, it has always been very important for people to read the books in any order; none depends on any preliminary knowledge reacher as a character only today, ] You don’t care about yesterday, you don’t care tomorrow, so every book is on its own that gave us flexibility to really choose the book we wanted to use for each seasons.

We also had to consider that happily, because many people read my books, which is great, we have to accept that not everyone reads my books, and we hope that the TV series [The series] will introduce a new audience. It is possible that there will be some overlap, of course, but there will be new viewers and hopefully a bigger audience than the books will receive.

So we felt that we had to take these people, those who didn’t know Reacher yet. So the first season was a very action season, lots of mysteries, lots of tension, lots of tension and so on. but there was also an introduction to Reacher. He was just leaving the army, this was Reacher who learned his new life and seized the opportunity to introduce him as a man, his upbringing, his childhood, his family, you know.

“He had his mother, his father, and his brother. Which shows him professionally, what was the center of gravity of his career, what kind of things did he do in the army? We jumped out of book 11.

This is Book 11, Bad Luck and Trouble, focused on its old unit, the elite military police he led, the 110th second, the special investigators, which was the essence of his service. This second series explains its professional origin, and so we hope that the viewer, who may not have known Reacher, now understands both aspects of his personality. “

Why does the Jack Reacher Books Format for Prime Video Series?

Although the books include the same protagonist, Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson), and many common elements of their world, Child, fulfill the purpose of all novels to be independent. Although the Reacher series strives for more continuity than books, the main plot of books can be interpreted independently. As this approach is echoed on the cinema screen, this quality is a good reading and watch, as TV viewers can jump into Season 2 of Reacher more easily, even if they did not see Season 1. This is especially true, as Season 2 does not return to most Season 1 characters, such as Oscar Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin) and Roscoe Conlin (Willa Fitzgerald), which is a good example of how separate the next season is.

This standalone format also allows the Prime Video success series to discover a story thread that creators are most convinced. They find them because they are not tied to a strict literary chronology and get more creative freedom to play the plot and characters that fit the screen. Season 2 presents this approach by jumping to Book 11 to present Jack’s professional life and to reunite with the military police unit to investigate the death of a former member. Reacher has been renewed for Season 3 before the premiere of Season 2, which means that plans are being prepared for the next chapter of the title character. However, the following book adaptation has not yet been confirmed. However, as the series moves on Season 3 and potentially further seasons, TV adaptation can go in several different directions to adapt more of the books written by Child.

The first three episodes of Reacher Season 2 were released on December 15, and by the end of January, episodes will be broadcast on Prime video on a weekly basis.

The protagonist Ritchson has an idea of the direction the series can take after Season 2. In a recent interview, Ritchson revealed that he would be happy to process Die Trying, the second novel of the Jack Reacher series. Now that reacer has been renewed to season 3, his dreams can come true, as the series of novels gives a variety of adaptation opportunities.
