How will Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown be available on Steam Deck?

With the release date of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown fast approaching, many fans are eagerly awaiting its move from one platform to the next. Here’s everything you need to know about Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on Steam Deck.

The latest installment in the popular Prince of Persia series, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown draws inspiration from its ancient roots. With the release date of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown approaching, many fans are excited to start moving from one platform to another, avoiding the legendary dangers that await them in this new action-adventure platform game.

The game is available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and PS4/5, but we’ll be curious to see if it will also see action on Steam. A slew of available games makes the Steam Deck one of the best handheld consoles out there, and there’s nothing better than adding another high-performing game to the ever-expanding library.

Is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown available on Steam Deck?

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is not available on Steam Deck per se, as it is an Epic Games exclusive, which means that it is only available on PC (apart from Ubisoft’s own webstore, of course) through this webstore. Fortunately, however, there are ways to run the game on the handheld platform.

Previous games in the three-decade-old franchise can all be easily played on Valve’s handheld, having been released on Steam, but it’s not quite so simplistic when it comes to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Although the game is available on multiple platforms, including PC, it will not be available on Steam.

It’s not an ideal scenario that the game is officially unavailable on Steam Ceiling. It’s currently available for pre-order on the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft, which can be accessed through Valve’s handheld, and of course, Ubisoft Connect, which is also available on PC. By installing Heroic Games Launcher on your Steam Deck, you can access the Epic Games library on the go, which includes Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. It’s a little more hassle if you’re using Ubisoft Connect, but the requirements for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown aren’t too demanding, which bodes well for the device, presumably with 60 fps, medium or even maxed out settings aren’t unthinkable.

In terms of storage, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown only requires 30GB of expensive storage, which is very little by current standards, so from that point of view, the game should run on any Steam Blanket, even an uninstalled 65GB one.
