A Fallout: New Vegas Mod With Fred Durst Lost For 7 Years Recovered! [VIDEO]

We know Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit, and now we can bring him back to Obsidian Entertainment’s game (which never got a sequel, despite the studio’s eagerness to do so).

It’s a mod in which Durst can be your partner, but the voice files come from the Limp Bizkit activities. It appeared on NexusMods, but it’s a mod that’s been pretty much lost since 2016. However, Twitter user UsagiCola found it on his hard drive, and a YouTube user named Micky D gave the story more publicity, so the supposedly lost mod may finally be back in the public domain.

According to an old Reddit post, the video embedded below is the ONLY record of the mod’s original life. The mod surfaced in 2015, and within about a year it was removed from the Fallout: New Vegas Nexus Mods page, and the mod’s creator, lb8068, was surprised that this could happen. Except he didn’t have the files, because he had formatted his computer (he meant hard drive, SSD) just before the Reddit comment, so none of his work was left.

That might have been the end of the Fallout: New Vegas Fred Durst mod story, but the aforementioned @UsagiCola took to Twitter to apologize to anyone who started following him because of the mod, which he had little to do with. (It’s fair to say archive, archive, archive! – who knows when something disappears from the internet without a trace?)

So the mod was saved in the end, and while it’s not revolutionary, this story proves that anyone who has a lot of data to store might be doing the right thing. The mod has been uploaded to Google Drive, so anyone who wants to go on an adventure with a Limp Bizkit band member can do so again. In the end, it was a happy ending.
