MOVIE NEWS – It seems that everyone at Disney wants a new movie in the billionaire saga; the only unanswered question is whether Jack Sparrow will be part of the cast…
Seeing as the MCU is no longer the hen that lays the golden egg, it’s becoming increasingly apparent that Disney wants to resurrect other franchises. Ones that have made them a lot of money in the past. It’s the same with Pirates of the Caribbean. But here, too, the problem arises as to whether the saga can triumphantly return to the cinema without Johnny Depp. The House of Mouse seems to be aware of this, but it’s not sure that they would consider bringing back Jack Sparrow.
As reported by Daniel Richtman and picked up by World of Reel, Mickey Mouse’s company would reportedly love to see Captain Jack Sparrow in the franchise’s as-yet-unconfirmed, supposed sixth film.
However, I only want to see him in a supporting role. So it is not yet known whether the American actor, who has expressed his anger in the past about the way Disney has handled things with his character, would be willing to pay less to be a supporting actor in a new all-star team. Of course, fans say no just by reading the networks. Unless the media giant gives him a big check. True, the star said at the time that he was unwilling to return “even for $300 million”.
What seems to be more than confirmed, however, is that the development of the new film in the action-fantasy series is a headache.
Recently, it was said that a reboot or restart with Margot Robbie in the lead role is being planned. Considering how well the Australian actress plays such strange characters, this would have been a fantasy. But it seems the idea fell through, and it was more about doing something with Johnny Depp.
Amidst all of this, the Pirates of the Caribbean producer expressed his desire to bring the actor back. However, Disney and Johnny Depp himself have to agree. And right now, it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to do that. In any case, some see the delay as the calm before the storm. But the owners of Star Wars and Marvel need to bring back the saga. We’ll see how it ends.
Let’s recall that both Disney and Warner Bros. parted ways with the actor in the magical world of Harry Potter amid the media uproar sparked by Amber Heard’s accusations.
Although the verdict was ultimately in Depp’s favour after the incident, it is not sure that the actor would be happy to return to Disney’s bosom after the way they treated him…
