Nearly six years after its predecessor, Frostpunk 2 has been given a release date in addition to a new trailer and gameplay footage.

 

 

After years of speculation, the release date of the survival city builder Frostpunk 2 has been set for July 25, 2024. The game, which was announced more than two and a half years ago, looks like it will provide an even more depressing experience than before. Moreover, in even more detail.

Both the city-building and survival game genres have long been well-established in the gaming space, but the latter is relatively new in popularity, thanks to games like Valheim, Palworld, or Sons of the Forest.

The developer quickly shot down the rumour about the release of Frostpunk 2 two years ago. He claimed that the game will be released in early 2024. Although that window has now closed, fans waiting for 11-bit Studio’s latest creepy venture won’t have to wait much longer. Because it was revealed during the Xbox Partner Showcase that Frostpunk 2 will be released on July 25, 2024. Those who pre-order the Deluxe edition will get access to a one-week beta in April. The Deluxe Edition also includes three paid post-release DLCs, 72 hours of early access to Story Mode, a digital art book, audio, exclusive in-game items, and a Frostpunk novella.

According to the Steam page, the standard edition forgoes the aforementioned extras and only includes the base game.

Frostpunk 2 looks like a sequel both in name and story. It takes place about three decades after the events of the first part.
