Is PlayStation About To Take A Huge Leap In Graphics?!

TECH NEWS – According to sources from Insider Gaming, Tom Henderson, the PlayStation PSSR system sets the bar very high.

Although we don’t know anything official yet, plenty of reports already point to the PS5 Pro’s existence. What’s more, Insider Gaming’s sources have revealed specifications that point to a significantly more powerful system than the current PS5. And now, adding to the leak, journalist Tom Henderson delves into PlayStation’s Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology (similar to NVIDIA’s DLSS), which hints at a rather ambitious goal for Sony.

Based on one of its recent leaks, the team intends PSSR to target 4K/120 FPS and 8K/60 FPS in video games.

This technology will be PlayStation’s initiative for systems that increase frames per second. However, this does not mean that the rumoured PS5 Pro will target the aforementioned resolutions. It is assumed that Sony’s console will further refine its system and port it to later devices, leading to 4K/120 FPS and 8K/60 FPS.

More PlayStation 5 Pro details

In addition to sharing PSSR details, Henderson also expanded on known PS5 Pro technical information. In this regard, and aside from what was already discussed last weekend, the system’s memory would have at least a 28% improvement over the current PS5 model. The processor will have a “High CPU Frequency Mode” mode. The latter seeks to achieve a 10% performance increase in the component.

The journalist also understands that the PS5 Pro wants to remain “competitive” as much as possible. Repeating the same strategy we saw in 2023: incorporating a removable disk reader. The gaming community won’t be able to see this data until sometime next fall. In the season when the PS5 Pro is said to be released. As for PSSR goodness, we’ll have to wait and see how the technology develops in both this yet-to-be-announced console and Sony’s other future devices.
