Will the Samsung Galaxy S25 See a Significant Price Hike?

TECH NEWS – Samsung’s next generation Galaxy devices could be significantly more expensive than the phones available now, and a possible reason has been rumored.

The Exynos 2500 has been rumored for months. However, there is something about it that is not yet in the public domain, while we know it from Qualcomm for Snapdragon 8 Gen 4: the latter already has a release date. Because of this, we can hear that Samsung might have its hands tied, so the South Korean company might be forced to release Galaxy S25 devices with only one chipset. So the Exynos 2500 might not be in the phones and only the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 might be in them. This could mean a significant price increase!

Earlier, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities, said that Samsung might be forced to use Qualcomm’s chipset exclusively due to its low 3nm GAA yield, even though the South Korean company has previously confirmed that it will continue with the two-chip solution that we already see in the S24 Galaxy handsets. Samsung’s own chipset, the Exynos, might not be doing so well if it is still unknown when the new 2500 version will arrive…

On Twitter, @yanazaki1812 wrote that the lack of Exynos could make the Samsung Galaxy S25 30% more expensive, since Qualcomm’s chipset costs the company so much more. It could pass on the full markup to customers, but Samsung could swallow some of it, but it could reduce the profit margin. But we have already heard that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will come in two versions. There will be one with Wi-Fi only and the other with a 5G modem…

But if the Snapdragon X80 modem will be there in the Samsung Galaxy S25, it could be an even bigger premium if 5G support is going to be important. And for this reason, Apple could be in a good position with the iPhone 16, even if Apple Intelligence won’t be on the devices by default…
