Our prayers have been answered: the latest Nintendo Switch 2 leak confirms the feature we’ve all been begging for…
The Nintendo Switch 2 promises to be a really great console. Especially now that a leak has seemingly confirmed a feature fans have desperately wanted.
Although Nintendo has repeatedly stated that the Switch 2 will not be released this year, that hasn’t stopped the rumour mills. Moreover, according to industry insiders, the arrival of the next Nintendo console is already imminent. We also found out which previous Nintendo console it will follow.
Without official confirmation, we should take these claims with some caution. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about leaks from “verified” sources.
Backward compatibility is a feature we all want in new consoles, yet manufacturers often overlook it.
However, it looks like that won’t be the case with the Switch 2.
When Adrien190303 shared on Reddit that the Switch 2 “seemingly entered mass production,” it led to fellow NatetheHate2 saying, “It has backwards compatibility support.”
Although caution is always advised, NatetheHate2 has proven to be a “generally reliable source”, according to the Reddit community. Of course, this does not make him infallible, but it gives weight to his claim. Still, while this is welcome information, some people think it’s silly to even talk about backwards compatibility as a potential possibility.
“There is absolutely no way people are still talking about backwards compatibility,” – began Roder777 – “It’s gonna have it. We have known this for countless years. They aren’t just randomly going to throw away millions for nothing.”
Even if that’s the case, it’s still “good to confirm”, as KingofGrapes7 put it.
Whether it’s an obvious feature or a pleasant surprise, we can all agree that Nintendo must continue offering backward compatibility.
Now we’re just one press release away from Nintendo officially announcing the Switch 2… until then, we hope for the best!
