The Polish studio has essentially confirmed that this won’t be their only joint project with the Japanese publisher, so Silent Hill 2 Remake could be just the beginning.
We last wrote about how long Silent Hill 2 Remake will be PlayStation 5 exclusive on console, so there’s definitely a bit more to wait for those who want to play the game on Xbox series, or maybe the successor to Nintendo Switch (who knows, maybe it will make it there…), but now in an interview with Polish publication Bankier, Bloober team has revealed more about James Sunderland’s adventures.
Regarding the game, they said in the interview that the studio hasn’t reached all of its financial goals yet, but that they are constantly changing. However, when the remake of Silent Hill 2 is released in October, they should see an improvement in the fourth quarter (at least in calendar terms; in business terms it will be the third, as the fiscal year starts in April). Producer (and CEO of Bloober Team) Piotr Babieno added that the biggest sales for Silent Hill 2 Remake will come from PlayStation 5, but he knows there will be a lot of interest from PC as well.
According to Babieno, Konami wasn’t keen on forcing the Polish team to make Silent Hill 2 Remake available on PC, but he did admit that the original was a game that identified with the PlayStation brand from the start. Sure, there were several mods of the game for PC (we recommend the Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition, the last update of which we reported), but there was also an HD version of questionable quality for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Babieno also revealed that this is not the end of their relationship with Konami, and that more remakes, perhaps of the first or third installments, could be in the pipeline.
Silent Hill 2 Remake will be released on October 8th for PlayStation 5 and PC (the Basic Edition will be available for 70€ and the Digital Deluxe Edition for 80€).
