Nintendo Switch 2: The Lid is Off on the Switch Successor! [VIDEO]

NINTENDO NEWS – So the rumor that the next platform from the big N would be unveiled on January 16th was true.

As in the fall of 2016, we only got a short trailer showing the hardware (2 minutes and 22 seconds long, so a strong emphasis on the number two), so the Japanese company didn’t give any concrete details about the Nintendo Switch 2, which will be bigger than its predecessor and strongly resemble a handheld PC. We could also see a new Mario Kart among the games, so Mario Kart 9 (definitely not the name) will be on the platform, and we’re sure to hear more in time, either officially or in rumor form, about the Switch 2, which finally has a confirmed name.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will get a Nintendo Direct dedicated to it, which will be held by the Japanese company on April 2. There will be events where you can try out the device, and judging by the dates, we’re afraid the release will be a little later than previously planned. In North America, New York will host Nintendo’s new handheld from April 4 to 6, Los Angeles from April 11 to 13, and Dallas and Toronto from April 25 to 27.

Europe will not be ignored: Paris from April 4 to 6, London from April 11 to 13, Milan and Berlin from April 25 to 27, and Madrid and Amsterdam from May 9 to 11. Nintendo is also heading to Australia, with Melbourne hosting the Switch 2 on May 10 and 11, and Asia: Makuhari in Tokyo on April 26 and 27, and Seoul on May 31 and June 1. Hong Kong and Taipei are also on the list, but no dates have been announced yet.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will also support Switch cartridge games, not just digital ones, but some games will not be supported or only partially supported, and more details on that will be announced later by the big N, which will release the new platform sometime this year. The question is how much it will cost.
