Rumors suggest that the release of GTA VI could coincide with a highly anticipated remake of a beloved classic, sparking speculation about a potential showdown between two gaming giants.
The next chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series is already shaping up to be one of the most significant video games ever, even though its release is scheduled for the end of this year. Of course, delays are always a possibility with Rockstar Games, so nothing is set in stone.
Whenever GTA VI finally lands, expect it to dominate the gaming landscape. Everyone on your friends list will be playing it, every gaming outlet will cover it, and it will flood your YouTube feed like an unstoppable tidal wave.
It’s hard to imagine any game daring to compete with GTA VI during its launch window. Most publishers and developers would likely avoid releasing anything at the same time to steer clear of being overshadowed.
However, one game that might stand a chance of holding its own is the rumored remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
According to current information, GTA VI is slated for a late 2025 release, while whispers suggest that the Black Flag remake might also drop around the same time. If that happens, at least the two games target different audiences, as the Black Flag remake would cater to fans of historical adventures rather than open-world crime.
It’s worth noting, though, that the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake hasn’t been officially announced yet. Meanwhile, the odds of a GTA VI delay remain high.
Regardless of whether these two games collide, 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for gaming, and we’re eager to see how everything unfolds.
