Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: Another Promising Game from China? [VIDEO]

It’s a game that many of you will have forgotten, but we can understand that Lenzee Games is not very talkative…

This Souls clone action-RPG was announced in 2021, so it’s been more than three years since then. The team has spent these few years (first hit by the pandemic) working on Wuchang: Fallen Feathers as it nears release. Nothing is more proof of this than the promising footage released by the Chinese press and streamers at 4K resolution and 60 FPS frame rate.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is set in the land of Shu at the end of the Ming Dynasty, during a time of war exacerbated by a mysterious disease. Unfortunately, it gives birth to horrible creatures. We control Wuchang, so he is in the title of the game. It’s a bit cliché that our hero suffers from amnesia. However, she is a skilled pirate warrior who must explore this dangerous land suffering from the dreaded Feathering Disease. Throughout the story, you can upgrade Wuchang’s arsenal and learn new skills. These can be obtained from defeated enemies. Combat style can be improved by sacrificing the Red Mercury and developing new techniques picked up along the way. Wuchang’s weapons can also be enhanced with powerful spells, giving her a more unique fighting style in battle.

Through forgotten temples, overgrown ruins and the like, Wuchang must traverse grotesque abominations inspired by ancient Chinese mythology. As the character pieces together his lost memories, choices will reportedly lead to one of several endings. Endings will be based on decisions made, secrets revealed, and allies chosen.

Leenzee Games has only worked on one game so far, and not many people know about it. That’s A.D. 2047, a cyberpunk sci-fi VR interactive that promises a rich story, dynamic combat, and stunning visuals. By comparison, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers might be bigger – the game is being published by 505 Games for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
