Jagged Alliance 3 Now in New Hands: What This Means for Fans

Haemimont Games will continue its work under new ownership within the next few days, and there are no plans to change the projects in the pipeline or the management team.

Paradox Interactive will become the new owner of Haemimont Games. There is no information on the amount of the transaction, but it is known that the acquisition will be completed within days. The Bulgarian studio was founded by Gabriel Dobrev in September 1997 and has produced mainly real-time strategy and city-building games. A few examples: Celtic Kings: Rage of War (PC, 2002), Imperium Romanum (PC, 2008), Tropico 3 (PC/X360, 2009), Tropico 4 (PC/X360, 2011), Tropico 5 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, X360, PC, Linux, Mac; 2014), Surviving Mars (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Linux, Mac; 2018), Stranded: Alien Dawn (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One; 2023), and Jagged Alliance 3 (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One; 2023).

“We are thrilled to welcome Haemimont Games to Paradox! They bring a tight-knit team with a long history of developing management games, with many well-received projects in their portfolio. They also have a strong creative streak, technology developed for their niche, a new [intellectual property] in development, and a strong culture that fits Paradox’s way of working. We have great confidence in their team and leadership, and our focus now is to ensure that they can continue to make great games under new ownership,” Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester wrote in the press release.

“We are thrilled to become part of the Paradox family! The cultural fit between our companies is remarkable, and we already feel at home. This partnership will allow us to push the boundaries of our games and deliver deeper and more immersive experiences to our players. It also opens up new horizons for our team, technology and creative processes that we’re excited to explore. Expect amazing new games from us,” added Gabriel Dobrev, founder of Haemimont Games.

Hopefully they will continue to make exciting games under the new ownership.
