MOVIE NEWS – The live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon will only be released this summer, but the studio has already announced that the sequel is expected to premiere in June 2027.
This only happens if the producer is very confident in its success, and according to the news, Universal has every reason to be optimistic, because the upcoming film turned out very well. This is confirmed by the previews and professional opinions, although many have previously asked why the same thing should be done with live actors after an animated success. Director Dean Deblois, who is directing both versions, has already said the answer a few times: the new version explores new themes, shifts the emphasis, and has more subtle nuances, so it will be a pleasant experience for both those who are already familiar with the dragon series and those who may be encountering it for the first time.
It is no coincidence that the studio is re-presenting the dragon story to viewers, as the animated trilogy brought in $1.65 billion in revenue and received four Oscar nominations, so the franchise can continue to be of great interest.
