While Ubisoft is already working on The Division 3 (Massive Entertainment confirmed it for 2023), the second part will be expanded.
Fans of The Division 2 won’t have to wait much longer for the release date of the game’s next DLC. This was reported by Insider Gaming, and more specifically in their podcast this week, we heard for the first time that Massive Entertainment will soon release a new DLC for The Division 2. The DLC is called Battle for Brooklyn and according to Tom Henderson it won’t be a big DLC. He believes that it will be the smallest addition to the franchise and will be sold for around $15. He says it will be released towards the end of May.
The Battle for Brooklyn DLC, originally scheduled for 2024 as part of Year 6, was pushed back to early 2025. Then, in January, it was announced that the new content would not be part of Year 6 after all. With Season 7 starting soon, this will likely be the content that finally kicks off the new year for the game. We won’t have to wait long for official information either, as Ubisoft will announce more about The Division 2’s upcoming DLC on Wednesday, April 23rd.
In addition to the content expansion for The Division 2, Ubisoft has already confirmed that The Division 3 is in development. There was no information on when gamers can expect the next installment in the franchise, but it’s likely to be released around 2027-2028, and by then it will most likely be targeting PlayStation 6 and next-gen Xbox hardware. Of course, it should be added that the uncertainty surrounding Ubisoft could still change the plans of the Yves Guillemot-led publisher in a big way.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 has been out for six years now, as the online-only (and therefore presumably unplayable) third-person shooter was released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 15, 2019. The launch window for Battle for Brooklyn is not official yet!
