Jade Raymond has departed from Haven Interactive Studios, raising serious doubts about Sony’s live service push – and sparking renewed questions about why Raymond tends to move on every three or four years.
Jade Raymond, founder of Haven Interactive Studios, which was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment in March 2022, has officially left the company, as reported by Bloomberg. While Sony gave no official explanation, insiders familiar with the situation say her departure occurred just weeks after the internal playtest of Fairgames.
Yes, Fairgames—previously titled Fairgame$—is the studio’s multiplayer shooter project. Reportedly, some Haven developers were growing increasingly concerned about the game’s progress and potential reception. A PlayStation spokesperson told Bloomberg: “Raymond was an incredible partner and visionary in founding Haven Studios. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and contributions and wish her all the best in the next chapter of her career.”
The spokesperson added: “Sony Interactive Entertainment remains committed to supporting Haven Studios and looks forward to continuing the journey with new studio leads Marie-Eve Danis and Pierre-Francois Sapinski.”
According to internal sources, Fairgame$ was initially planned for release this fall but has now been pushed back to spring 2026, effectively giving the team an additional six months. This move raises more questions about Sony’s live service strategy, especially since only one title—Helldivers 2 by Arrowhead Game Studios—has found notable success, and that wasn’t developed in-house.
As for Jade Raymond, her post-Ubisoft career path has been anything but conventional. She joined Electronic Arts to launch the Motive studio, later moved to Google to head the ill-fated Stadia Games & Entertainment, and finally landed at Sony to build Haven. So—what’s next for her?
