Shift Up‘s game is already upsetting the PC crowd in multiple ways—but at least we’ve learned the system requirements.
Let’s start with the specs:
Minimum – 1080p/60 FPS, low graphics preset:
OS: Windows 10 x64 (no version specified)
CPU: Intel Core i5-7600K / AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
RAM: 16 GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB VRAM) / AMD Radeon RX 580 (8 GB VRAM)
Storage: 75 GB (SSD recommended!)
Internet connection (not mentioned…)
Recommended – 1440p/60 FPS, medium graphics preset:
OS: Windows 10 x64
CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
RAM: 16 GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super / AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
Storage: 75 GB (on SSD!)
Internet connection
High – 1440p/60 FPS, high graphics preset:
OS: Windows 10 x64
CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
RAM: 16 GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super / AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT

Internet connection
Very High – 4K/60 FPS, ultra graphics preset:
OS: Windows 10 x64
CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
RAM: 16 GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 / AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT
Storage: 75 GB (on SSD!)
Internet connection
The PC version supports Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3 upscaling, 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios, and even 4K textures. The DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are usable, and full key remapping will be available. Completing Mann’s test unlocks the Royal Guard Suit and 25 more Nano Suits. All players will also receive the Crimson Wing outfit, which includes simplified Chinese and Japanese voiceover.
But what’s the scandal? For the first time, Sony Interactive Entertainment is publishing a game with Denuvo DRM. That’s why we listed “internet connection” in the requirements—it needs to phone home. This has sparked outrage on Steam and Twitter, with many canceling pre-orders and removing the game from their wish lists. Another reason is that the game isn’t purchasable in over 130 countries without PlayStation Network support—even though it allegedly doesn’t require a PSN account. However, linking accounts gets you the Planet Diving Suit (2nd). The Denuvo decision was likely made by Shift Up, though we’ve seen other South Korean devs backpedal—like Inzoi during early access, which dropped the plan after backlash.
Stellar Blade launches on PC on June 11—if you can actually buy it. (Does Sony hate money?)
