This Czech City Is So Proud of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, They Gifted It to Their Prime Minister

A medieval RPG has just become an official diplomatic gift in the Czech Republic. The mayor of Kutná Hora recently presented a Collector’s Edition of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to Prime Minister Petr Fiala during his visit to the city.

There’s no denying that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is one of this year’s biggest surprises in gaming. Set in 15th-century Bohemia, the game has struck a chord with fans of historically grounded RPGs, and its reception has been so overwhelmingly positive that Warhorse Studios is eyeing the 2025 Game of the Year award. And among those most proud of the title is the Czech city of Kutná Hora (also known as Kuttenberg), where the game’s developer is based. The local mayor went so far as to gift the game’s Collector’s Edition to the head of government as a token of pride.

This anecdote was shared by Warhorse Studios in a post on Instagram. During Prime Minister Petr Fiala’s official visit to the city, Mayor Lukáš Seifert presented him with a special boxed edition of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The gesture didn’t go unnoticed by the development team or the broader gaming world.

“We’re incredibly proud to see our game presented at such a high level and grateful for the support and recognition it’s receiving in Czech society,” the studio wrote. “We’re told the Prime Minister’s team erupted in zealous applause. We can’t blame them!” It’s unclear whether Fiala will actually play the game, but it’s worth noting that this Collector’s Edition is packed with extras:

• Base game
• Additional mission: The Lion’s Crest
• Hunter’s gear set
• Expansion Pass
Henry and Pebbles figure (30 cm)
Emblems of Courage: Enamel pin set
Kutná Hora Alleys: Fabric map
The King’s Rebels: Trading cards
Letter of Hope

Kingdom Come isn’t the only game that’s made it into the hands of politicians.

It’s not every day that a video game becomes an official diplomatic gift, but this isn’t the first time it has happened. Poland has previously showcased national pride by gifting games developed by CD Projekt RED. In one famous example, Prime Minister Donald Tusk—who held the office from 2007 to 2014 and currently serves again—gifted a copy of The Witcher 2 to then-U.S. President Barack Obama during a state visit to Poland.
