A PDF formatting oversight exposed the hidden sales numbers for several major SEGA and Atlus titles, including Persona 3 Reload, Sonic Frontiers, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
The SEGA Sammy Management Meeting presentation, published on June 18, accidentally revealed sensitive sales data. On page 25, figures were hidden under a grey block, but due to poor PDF formatting, simply highlighting the page made the text visible and copyable. Whoever edited the document clearly didn’t do a thorough job—deleting the data would’ve been a much cleaner solution. As it stands, it’s a rather awkward slip-up for SEGA.
According to the leaked data, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Yakuza 8) has sold 1.66 million copies so far. The spin-off Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name has reached 960,000 sales. Persona 3 Reload stands at 2.07 million, Sonic Superstars at 2.43 million, and Sonic Frontiers has nearly doubled that with 4.57 million. Total War: Warhammer III has sold 2.34 million copies.
Shin Megami Tensei V has reached 2.11 million units—including sales of the enhanced multiplatform version, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Yakuza: Like a Dragon totals 2.86 million units sold. Persona 5 Royal, which includes the remastered release, has hit 7.25 million. Team Sonic Racing has moved 3.5 million units, while Total War: Three Kingdoms is currently at 3.21 million.
Overall, these are solid figures, though one number stands out: Like a Dragon Gaiden is the only title that has yet to cross the one-million mark. That milestone will likely be reached in time, but the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio arguably deserves stronger performance. Perhaps this also reflects SEGA’s high release frequency for the series—roughly one title per year lately.
