Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced: A Third Event This Week?

Based on the rumors we’ve reported on, two possible events are in the works, and a third one might be on the way!

Last week, we reported that Sony was planning a State of Play event. The company is expected to announce it by tomorrow at the latest. Then, a rumor surfaced that Microsoft is preparing a livestream as well. Sticking with the Xbox topic: Tom Warren, an editor at The Verge, claims he’s heard about it too. He thinks, in a deleted tweet, that it will be an ID@Xbox event, meaning it could be a show focused on indie titles. But that’s not what we’re talking about right now.

Last week, we also wrote about the rumor that the 2013 release Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, will be unveiled to the public this week in the form of a proper presentation. So far, Ubisoft has only shown a teaser image and confirmed the project’s existence. Before that, Ubisoft threatened legal action against whoever leaked the news, which is not ridiculous at all.

A screenshot of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced surfaced on Twitter. While the image quality looks a bit off, it’s possible the image is genuine. Ubisoft will likely have it taken down eventually. If not, we might at least get a glimpse of it. Another insider, NateTheHate, posted on Twitter that he believes Ubisoft will unveil the remake separately so that it won’t be tied to the rumored State of Play or ID@Xbox. The latter would make sense since the French publisher is anything but indie.

None of this is official yet, but if there are this many rumors about the remake, then its reveal is really close. In any case, the fact that a 13-year-old game’s remake is receiving such attention speaks to the French publisher’s current state.
