Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Expect Hours Of Additional Content!

Furthermore, Ubisoft is developing a more immersive experience based on pirate life for its 2013 Assassin’s Creed remake.

At a recent Ubisoft event in San Francisco, California, Wccftech interviewed Richard Knight, the director of the highly anticipated remake. Knight, who worked on Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Mirage, and Skull and Bones at Ubisoft Singapore, explained that the goal was to center the remake on Edward Kenway’s story and adventures. This meant incorporating modern technical improvements and a smoother open world, as well as adding new gameplay features. However, elements such as the multiplayer mode and the modern-day elements of the original game were omitted.

According to Knight, the result will be a version of Black Flag that remains faithful to the original but plays as if it were designed today. Ubisoft has added new content, provided early access to some abilities, and introduced convenience features. However, the emphasis remains on a more focused and contemporary adaptation of one of the most beloved entries in the Assassin’s Creed series.

“It’s in the name: ‘Resynced.’ It’s not called ‘Black Flag Remake.’ We knew early on that if we were going to do this big remake, we had to pick one thing and do it exceptionally well. Edward. That meant focusing entirely on him as a character, his story, and his gameplay. Consequently, we had to leave other elements, like multiplayer, to the rest of the franchise. We knew we still needed some modern-day elements, but we view Black Flag Resynced as the next major Assassin’s Creed game after Shadows, happening now. If you want to know what happened to Desmond and his friends, the original Black Flag (AC4) is still available to buy and play. It wouldn’t make sense for us to recount Desmond’s story out of order.

We had two goals for the modern era. First, we wanted to continue what Shadows was doing. Second, we wanted to tie it directly into Edward’s adventure. We want you to feel like you’re always playing Black Flag rather than taking a two-hour break to do something else. That’s why we created these “rifts,” which present “what if” scenarios for Edward and his friends. They allow you to reflect on the game while engaging with the modern-day digital framework. You will remain closely tied to the main adventure.

The length of the core game varies by player. It generally takes between 15 and 40 hours, depending on how much you engage with the open world. Since it is now entirely seamless, players can go anywhere. Some might engage with the pirate mechanics for hours on end. In terms of new content, Resynced adds around six hours via new and officer quests and similar activities. We have also added a profound layer of detail to the world, so we hope players spend far more than just those six hours,” Knight said.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will be released on July 9 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
