Armatus: The Godfall Dev Team Has Taken Up the Roguelite Axe [VIDEO]

Counterplay Games and Fictions are trying their hand at a third-person roguelite shooter, and perhaps this time they can attract more attention.

Armatus is a third-person roguelite shooter set in the demon-infested ruins of Paris. As the last supernatural warriors of an ancient order, armed with powerful firearms and incredible celestial power, we roam the city in search of the lost gate to heaven – the Sunless Gate. The world is over. As reality falls apart, demons flood the once-busy streets. Collapse is essentially guaranteed. Sealed behind holy wards, the last survivors believe they are the only humans left alive. Their only hope is that we carve a path through the chaos and save them. But the ruins of Paris give way to increasingly demonic hellscapes, inhabited by ever stronger and more grotesque monsters.

Knowledge is a weapon, and death is never the end. During each run, use our scythe and chosen firearm against brutal demons bent on our destruction. To defeat them, evolve our combat style with powerful celestial abilities and passive upgrades. If we die, we are revived to fight again. Fight, die, revive, and try again; push forward to get farther with every run, and master every element of our arsenal.

From the moment we enter the ruins, we are heavily armed and powerful. Yet we continue to gain new powers until we have the tools needed to destroy our enemies. Find our favorite lethal combination of weapons and powers, from submachine guns and shotguns to holy fire and slowing time, so we can truly obliterate everything standing in our path. Will we be strong enough to defeat the horrors of the Scoured Path?

Armatus does not yet have an exact release date, only a release window: Counterplay Games’ new title will arrive sometime this winter for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, thereby avoiding Grand Theft Auto VI. It will also be part of the Xbox Game Pass lineup.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
