Konami’s president says rebooting Castlevania is one of the company’s key business pillars, and reports suggest that the project may already be in active development. Alongside Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and Suikoden, the Japanese publisher wants to bring its legendary vampire-hunting series to a new audience.

Konami has visibly returned to its biggest franchises in recent years. Silent Hill came back through new games and remakes, while Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater showed that the publisher is serious about rebuilding its classics for modern players.

President Hideki Hayakawa has now described revivals based on established intellectual properties as important pillars of the company’s business. Castlevania was included in that discussion, while industry reports claim that a larger reboot of the series may already be in active development.

The strategy is not limited to winning back longtime fans. Konami wants to use recognizable properties to reach new players while demand remains strong, and its vampire-hunting saga offers especially valuable material for that goal.

Castlevania has gone years without a full-scale, big-budget installment, yet the name has remained highly recognizable. The success of its television adaptations also suggests that the Belmont family and Dracula can attract an audience well beyond veteran players.

The smaller-scale Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is already scheduled for October 2026, but it may not be the larger project referenced by the latest reports. Hayakawa’s comments therefore point toward additional plans being prepared behind the scenes.

Konami has not officially confirmed a development studio, platforms, or a release window. It is also unclear whether the project could be a full remake of a classic entry, a return to the Lords of Shadow continuity, or an entirely new direction, but a major Castlevania comeback now appears closer than it has in years.
