Ned Luke, the actor behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, has strongly rejected claims that GTA 6 barely looks different from its predecessor. He argues that people placing the two games on the same visual level are overlooking how far Rockstar Games’ technology has advanced.
The latest GTA 6 presentation sparked another debate across social media, with some players arguing that the sequel looks too similar to GTA 5. Ned Luke, who portrayed Michael De Santa in the 2013 game, dismissed that comparison during his own video reaction to the new footage.
Luke said the two games look nothing alike and that critics are “out of their minds” if they genuinely see no major difference. He also joked that Michael never looked as good in GTA 5 as Jason and Lucia do in the upcoming sequel.
The actor highlighted improvements to character animation, natural movement, posture and small environmental details. In his view, GTA 5 already represented a huge leap over GTA 4, while GTA 6 appears to deliver an even more significant technological jump.
Rockstar Games has similarly suggested that sharper graphics are only one part of the upgrade, with the new title featuring a far more detailed animation system and denser world simulation. A final judgment will have to wait until release, but Luke’s reaction offers a forceful response to those who describe the sequel as little more than a prettier GTA 5.
