The South Korean studio is still going full throttle with updates for its game!
After releasing Crimson Desert Enhanced at the end of last month, many expected Pearl Abyss to slow its update schedule to focus on the upcoming Charting the Unknown expansion launching on October 15 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. However, that does not appear to be the case. Yesterday, the South Korean developer released another update that includes numerous fixes and improvements. This update addresses the visual noise issue that has plagued the game since its March release. Since the developer is saving new features and mechanics for the expansion, it’s no surprise that the 2.02.00 update focuses on fixing issues. One of the most welcome fixes addresses a bug that prevented items from being visible on NPCs illuminated by lanterns. Since stealing is the fastest way to obtain certain items, this bug could have slowed down character progression in the later stages of the game.
Several other bugs were also fixed, including the issue where an NPC’s items were not visible when illuminated by a lantern, the issue where the living quarters at Howling Hill Camp did not become available when the flag was raised if the storage was full, the inability to liberate Thornbriar Fortress, the disappearance of certain items from the Trade Goods Storage when loading specific save files, and the disappearance of the letter during the “The Words of Alustin” quest, which prevented progress in the quest.
The new Crimson Desert update fixes several bugs, including one that prevented players from chaining the Descending Force Palm after using the Aerial Force Palm and another that caused text to flicker in certain situations. The update also resolves a few localization issues. Most notably, the update resolves the bug that caused the game to crash when starting a new game with Nvidia DLSS Frame Generation enabled and the visual noise that appeared on indoor armor. While this visual issue hasn’t been fully resolved, it’s encouraging that Pearl Abyss is actively addressing it. The game looks stunning overall, but the visual noise can still be distracting in certain situations, though nowhere near as much as at launch.
Now is the best time to explore Pywel with Kliff.
