Will the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Be Finished?! Important Confirmation from Ubisoft

Many thought Ubisoft had cancelled it, but Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is still alive.

Ubisoft is going through one of the darkest periods in its history. The steep decline of the French developer-publisher seems unstoppable; the takeover has already been discussed. Much of the conversation indeed revolves around the sales of Star Wars Outlaws and the possible reception of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. But it is worth remembering another big project of the company: the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. Fans are worried about the game’s fate, but now we have finally heard something about the project.

The little news we’ve had about Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake isn’t great.

So far, the project has been surrounded by doubts, delays, and restarts of development. For this reason, many were rightly afraid of possible cancellation. However, Ubisoft wanted to pay tribute to the Prince of Persia saga with an X-post that lists all of the brand’s titles, including the new edition of Sands of Time.

What’s more, Ubisoft used this post to confirm the title’s release window. This is still the same one that was shared in June: 2026. So, even though we haven’t heard anything about the project for a few months, the French developer reiterates that the remake is still in the works. Now, we can only wait for the creators to share more information about the game’s features and the final release date.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was last seen at Ubisoft Forward 2024

The last time we heard anything about Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was during Ubisoft’s Forward 2024 broadcast. At an event where the title was only mentioned due to the announcement of the aforementioned 2026 release window. It was also revealed here that the game has passed the pre-production phase and is already in full development, with Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Bucharest and E-Studio joining forces in collaboration with Ubisoft Montreal.
