Will Two Released and One Upcoming Xbox Exclusive Go Multiplatform?

After Forza Horizon 5, three more Xbox exclusives could be coming to rival consoles, but these are still just rumors.

We recently wrote that Panic Button will be porting Forza Horizon 5 to the PlayStation 5. According to Spanish publication Vandal, three more games could be added to the list. According to the somewhat reliable site, the Fable reboot being developed by Playground Games could be one of the games that could be coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. There’s a twist, though: the Xbox Series and PC wouldn’t be favored this time, but there would actually be a simultaneous multiplatform release on all four platforms, meaning that gamers with neither Sony nor Nintendo consoles would have to wait!

The two games already released would be Killer Instinct and Starfield. According to Vandal, these two are the closest to being released on other platforms. The RPG from Bethesda Game Studios is reportedly in development for PlayStation 5 since the end of 2023. Again, at least, because Starfield was originally multiplatform, but after Microsoft acquired Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax Media, they immediately shut down the PlayStation 5 port. Killer Instinct is a relatively old game, so this may be an unusual port.

The multiplatform release of Fable may sound surprising, but there may be a chance, because Microsoft’s strategy is serious. We heard from the Redmond-based company a year ago that more of their games would be coming to Sony and/or Nintendo hardware, and it quickly paid off with Rare’s Sea of Thieves topping the PlayStation 5 charts in May. This was Microsoft’s way of proving to Sony that if a game is released on more platforms, it can make more money.

The Fable reboot is expected to be released in 2025, but the question is whether it will be on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. It’s not official yet!
