Get started now with one of three March games coming soon to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
On Wednesday evening, we told you that PlayStation Plus Essential’s March line-up would be headlined by a surprisingly big game. Dragon Age: The Veilguard was released on the last day of October for PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC, and is now available from BioWare and Electronic Arts, and will take up around 80GB of free space on your PlayStation 5’s SSD.
It has been announced on Reddit that the Dragon Age: The Veilguard character creation tool is now available on the PlayStation Store, meaning you can download the character creator to start realizing your character. It’s free, so you won’t have to pay for it (even afterwards). You can choose from multiple character classes and races, and save multiple characters. Once we’re happy with the look of our character, Rook, we can transfer him to the full game, which shouldn’t take much longer on Sony’s subscription service.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard has a free standalone character creator on the PS store. You can create your own unique character and carry it over to the game, which will be available on PS Plus on Tuesday, March 4.

Although Dragon Age: The Veilguard has received largely positive reviews from the press, the surprisingly early launch of PlayStation Plus Essential confirms that it hasn’t made much of an impression on fans. As a result, Electronic Arts has cut back on BioWare’s staff, with many being reassigned to other studios within the publisher, and others losing their jobs. Meanwhile, the studio is hard at work on the new Mass Effect, which is proceeding as planned. BioWare executive producer Michael Gamble recently assured fans that the game is still in pre-production, pre-development. (How much has BioWare’s restructuring affected development?)
If we’re not too busy with Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which will be available on PlayStation Plus Essential from March 4 to 31, there’s also Sonic Colors: Ultimate and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection.
